Ed co-founded Comprehensive Planning in 1981 (along with Deborah Gilder, CLU). He has been in the insurance industry for 49 years. He transformed a Transamerica branch agency into a multi-carrier brokerage agency that excels in solution based planning. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in 1969 from Providence College, Providence RI and he holds a life/health license. Ed is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 grandchildren.

Derek joined Comprehensive Planning in 1999. He helped it grow from a Transamerica branch office into a competitive independent general agency and is now an owner. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in 1996 from Rutgers University. Derek holds a life/health license, FINRA Series 6 and 63, CFP, ALMI and AALU designations. He is also a past president of NAIFA Greater Detroit. In his spare time, Derek enjoys playing guitar by the lake with his wife and 3 children at their home in Northern Michigan.

Tim joined Comprehensive Planning in 1998. He helped it grow from a Transamerica branch office into a competitive independent general agency and is now an owner. Tim holds a life/health license, a CLU designation from the American College as well as ALMI, and AALU designations. Tim and his wife spend a lot of time volunteering with various charities such as the National MS Society and the Caleb White Project.

April started her career with Comprehensive Planning in 1998. She has worked with a variety of advisors from banks, broker dealers, benefit firms and career agencies. She became part of the management team in 2011 as the Operations Manager. In 2018 she became Vice President and in 2020 she became our partner. April holds a life/health license, FINRA Series 6 and 63, and a CLU designation from the American College. April spends her spare time bowling and playing games with her husband and son.

Chrissy joined Comprehensive Planning in 2016 as a New Business Coordinator. She quickly learned that position and in no time was leading the team. Chrissy has a thirst for knowledge and sought out education in every aspect of the business. In 2019 she became Operations Manager and continues to excel in her position. She earned her CLU designation in 2024. In her spare time she enjoys spending time on her boat with her husband.
